Progressive design-build project that replaced aging cogeneration equipment for one of the largest wastewater treatment facilities in the western U.S. The new facility not only powers the entire San Jos茅-Santa Clara Regional Wastewater Facility, but also increases capacity 27%, enhances the plant鈥檚 entire emergency system, and provides flexibility to use no natural gas鈥攌ey to supporting the City鈥檚 greenhouse goals. The water treatment process was upgraded at all stages for optimal plant operation. This included new low emissions internal combustion engines, a heat recovery system, and a gas treatment system to improve operational reliability and efficiency.
