The Technology Center supports聽alternative fuel research and product improvements for the Richmond campus. Building 71 is composed of three separate structures with seismic isolation joints between them.聽The project聽includes a voluntary strengthening of existing concrete walls and columns in addition to new exterior concrete buttresses supported on new deep pile foundations. Shotcrete wall overlays, steel channel collectors, micro piles, and grade beam strengthening at various locations as well as ADA upgrades are also part of the scope.
