New 39,250 SF high performance facility for hands on learning. The facility features thirty automobile bays, lecture rooms/classrooms, teacher offices, and an outdoor patio. The bays contain specialty equipment such as lifts, utilities, exhaust hoods, and upgraded mechanical systems. A tool room, engine machine shop, engine cleaning room, fuel and electrical lab, and smog testing area were also provided. Scope also covered utilities and site improvements. The project was originally tracked for LEED Gold however through weekly meetings with District, design team, and third party commissioning agent, we were able to maximize sustainability goals and points, resulting in raising certification to LEED Platinum.
